This is for the man of my life, my best friend, the man I lean on in bad times and the man I look to in happy times. He has been my rock and the love of my life.

The Key

I give you this simple key,
a symbol of love to you from me.

Please keep it close at all times,
as a reminder of our happy times.

The infinite wisdom you shared,
the endless ways you cared.

The days when you were hurt and sad
I done my best to make you feel, not so bad.

The touching hearts and hands,
across the great lands.

This little symbol is special to me,
even though, it is just a key.

This key opens the many doors,
you have opened before.

Yet, there are some you have yet to see.
Deep down within me.

So, take it in trust, and with warm regards,
and know, I just gave you, the key to my heart.

When you need me, cling to the key.
Close your eyes, and know you are in me.

So, here it is, a plain little key,
a priceless tiny thing, I hand to thee.

Hold it close to you and your heart,
and know no time nor distance will keep us apart.
