CLOSE COMBAT: A BRIDGE TOO FAR

Developed by: Microsoft Games (1997)
Genre: Tactical World War Two Game
System Requirements: Windows 95, P133, 16 MB RAM, 45 MB HD Space, 4x CD or better, SVGA card that supports 800x600 resolution, 28.8 or faster modem, Mouse.

OVERVIEW: OPERATION MARKET-GARDEN was the largest airborne operation in history. Three allied airborne divisions and a brigade were dropped 30 miles behind German lines into World War Two occupied Holland tasked with securing and holding a series of bridges over which allied ground units could use to move into German proper (and thus end the war). This amazing battle has been the subject of various books and one of the best war movies ever made. Now Microsoft brings Market-Garden to your PC- be prepared!

Microsoft offers players an assortment of gaming options and features with A Bridge Too Far making it a far superior game to the original Close Combat. Some of these features include a more than 130 realistically modeled units, vehicles and weapons, elevated terrain, real time combat and modem play. While the game is tactical in scope (control of individual sqauds and vehicles) AB2F offers strategic play where players take on the daunting task of unit and supply allocation for the overall battle. The Battlemaker feature allows players to design custom battles- a very nice touch.
