OVERVIEW: "GET READY FOR SOME HIGH POWERED ACTION..ACTION...ACTION!!!" From out of your local arena to your PC comes Monster Truck Madness 2. Microsoft's sequel to Monster Truck Madness offers more ground pounding, obstacle crushing fury which can only be found in monster trucks. Now complete with weather and lighting effects along with a partnership with WCW (yes, the wrasslin' folks) Monster Truck Madness 2 is the ultimate monster truck game...well, actually it's the only one.

Monster Truck Madness 2 is a pretty fun game- for a while. The entire package is excellent; graphics, sounds, camera views, game options, vehicle selection....yet this fine tuned vehicle seems to just get old fast. Maybe it's because there really isn't that much to monster trucking outside of smashing cars and flinging mud. The WCW angle (complete with signature vehicles for wrestlers Sting, Hollywood Hogan and others) is nice but does it really add anything other than Hulk...errr Hollywood Hogan making appearances after the race to congraulate you on a victory? I don't think so.

The track selection is o.k., but how many times can you race around the countryside or truck wrassle in multiplayer? AAGGHHH!!!! All of this aside, a part of me actually liked Monster Truck Madness 2 and made me keep it on the hard drive. I can't play it every night- but once in a while it's a great break from traditional racing sims like NASCAR or CART Racing.

So while I cringe at it's limits, I love it's excellent features! If you get into monster truck rallies- this is YOUR game. If you're not, well, it's fun and you will get some good mileage out of it. Overall a good game with some limitations.
