SNOW WAVE
Developed by: Intense Games (1998)
Genre: Arcade style snowboarding game
System Requirements: Windows 95, P100, 16 MB RAM, CD ROM, SVGA w/ 3D Accelerator, Sound Card, Game Controller (joystick or gamepad).

OVERVIEW: If you can't hit the slopes (or the ramps) then check out Intense Game's Snow Wave. This extreme sport arcade sim brings the thrill of snowboarding to your PC. In fact, it's the ONLY snowboarding game available for the PC as we speak.

The game primarily runs off the CD so it doesn't take up space on your hard drive (that's nice) and offers excellent arcade style 3D graphics with a rockin' soundtrack (great alternative rock tunes) that adds the "extreme sport" element (i.e. Winter X Games). Basically, players have four international snowboarder to choose from- each with his/her own unique characteristics (like stability and agility) that effect the character's snowboarding. An example would be a character that is very stable (good for jumps) but not very agile (not good for downhill). The game offers four styles of competition, multiplayer mode and even Force Feedback.

The graphics are excellent, you'll almost feel the cold wind burning your face as you rocket down a slope at 80+ mph! The sounds are very good- especially the soundtrack! I would recommend either a joystick or gamepad but you will still need to punch the keyboard in order to perform various stunts when jumping. It's not all that complicated so this should be a hit with kids as well.

With no bugs and excellent gameplay, Snow Wave is sure to be a hit with the extreme sport and winter sport fans.
